House
Guess what? We are closing on our house this week!!! I'm so excited! We will be home owners in less than a week. I'm so excited to get painting and to get new carpet and make it beautiful.
I love the little white fence. And the red door.

Creepy!
Has anyone else seen these cakes around Pinterest? I don't know what it is but they totally creep me out! Maybe I'm just weird but I don't find it appetizing to eat some random body part even if it is in cake form and not real. Especially if you get the flesh part of the cake - hello Hannibal Lecter. Disturbing.
In other news I have a new segment coming up that will be dedicated to Pinterest and the crafts that I attempt because of it's influence. I have tried a few and had some successes and some complete failures. Regardless of how they turn out though I am always entertained trying.

New Class
Well we are now teaching the 4 year old's in primary. I miss my older girls they were awesome, but little kids definitely keep things entertaining. Caleb and I taught them for the first time yesterday and they were adorable. We were talking about loving everyone and how Christ would want us to love people even if they made a mistake. Then a cute little girl started talking about how her brother doesn't let her play the Wii very often and how that not nice but she loves him anyway. Then class turned into story time. All the kids wanted to tell a story. We tried to incorporate the lesson into their stories but it didn't work very well, but at least we were having fun. One kid started talking about how his friends dog died. I asked him what he could do to make the friend feel better and he said, "Well I didn't kill it." Fair enough.

Blue Lake
This last weekend Caleb and I had a genius idea to take Friday off of work and to go and scuba dive and camp at Blue Lake (a cute little lake that is all about scuba and has like sunken manikin heads and boats etc.) On our way there we were getting close to the salt flats (Blue Lake is in Wendover) and Caleb decided he wanted to top his car out which of course sounded fun to me. So we pull off the exit to get to the salt flats and there are like almost a billion motor-homes all lined up. We were so confused and then there were all these old fashioned cars. I've never seen so many people at the salt flats before. So we pull in and there is a line to get onto the salt flats and so we finally asked someone what was going on and duh! It was speed week! Caleb was kind of disappointed because he knew he wasn't going to be able to top his car out but he got excited when he realized that we could drive through the pits and look at all the cool cars that would be racing that week! We were hoping to see Bert from the movie World's Fastest Indian, but we realized he probably died a long time ago, but still good movie. Anyway it was way cool to see all the crazy vehicles that are out there. We had a blast. Then we decided we better get out to Blue Lake before it gets dark so that we can get a dive in. So Blue Lake is probably like a 30 min drive outside of Wendover on a semi-kept dirt road.
Isn't it pretty?
Well it decided to rain on us. Right when we got out to the Lake we looked around and there was lightening everywhere! It was way cool to watch, but not so fun when you want to dive. It also meant that there was a chance our car could get stuck and we would be there for a few days waiting for the mud to dry. So we were ready to go get a hotel for the night in Wendover but we called and because of speed week the prices were $200 more than usual!!! Yeah normally they only cost $40. So we were in a tight spot because we still wanted to get a dive in and we didn't want to just drive home. Luckily after like an hour it kind of cleared up and we decided we better take advantage. So we got a dive in. We saw some things we hadn't noticed before like a statue of a large praying mantis and a satellite dish. It's also always fun to try and chase the fish. After the dive we got out and it was raining again. So we decided we better get out of there while we still could. 2 1/2 hours later we were home. It was a way long day in the car, but it was still really fun.
Our 5k is on Sat. I can now officially run 3 miles. I'm pretty stoked. Caleb can kick my trash but one day I will beat him ;)

Beamed
Yesterday Caleb came up to me and was like, "Hey I think I have a scab on my head will you get the tweezers and pull it off?" This kind of a request is fairly normal considering he works construction. He always has some kind of little injury from the days work so I went and got the tweezers. I go to pull it off and it is standing straight up. I thought that was weird but that maybe since he had been playing with it, it was almost off anyway. So I go to pull it off and it just keeps coming. I was so confused and I just kept pulling at this 'scab'. Come to find it was a sliver on the top of his head that was like a half an inch long! That doesn't seem very big but when your pulling it out of someones skull it seems so huge! I asked him what he did and he told me a beam smacked his head today and that's when he must've got it. It freaked me out. Go figure.

What the what?
There have been so many random thoughts fluttering in my crazy mind lately that I believe that I need to get them out of my brain and into the cyber world and hopefully this will declutter my unorganized thought pattern.
Firstly I am in love with the Olympics (anyone else?..) With that said how could they give McKayla Maroney any deductions for that vault that she landed so perfectly in the team finals? I am still blown away by this.
It has been said that I get my crazy from my Mom and she got it from her Grandma Sessions. So to my future children I would like to say:
I'm sorry your mom is crazy. She had no hope from the beginning. Neither do you, but being crazy sure makes for a fun life and some good stories - just go with it :)
I'm about to get a little graphic here and sorry for the information that you really probably don't want so if you are skiddish go ahead and close your eyes now. For all of you who don't know I had a miscarriage almost two months ago (by d and c) and for the love when does the bleeding stop? (and also when do the bills stop coming - jk I know that answer to that one..it is never!) It's not like niagra falls anymore but still come now it is time to move on.
I seriously think about this all the time but I have no idea how I got so lucky that my husband is so freaking awesome! Really (you can all gag right about now) he makes everything that is great even better or things that suck seem to not be so bad. He even will compare real life events to Harry Potter with me. Now that my friends is true love.
I want a Toyota FJ Cruiser. A blue one. It's beautiful.
I want a Toyota FJ Cruiser. A blue one. It's beautiful.
We went and saw The Dark Knight Rises. Seriously so good. Caleb has a serious man crush on Bane. He is even talking about shaving his head to try to be more like him...should I be worried? If he did though I would only have one question to ask... Death or Exile?..(and yes we are being Bane and Catwoman for Halloween)
Once again we are going to the graphic portion of my post so please feel free to skip. But I would like some womanly opinions I have been talking to almost seriously everyone about whether or not they prefer natural childbirth or the epidural (can you tell I have baby on the brain?). I just don't know. I like the idea of natural but with the option of the epidural if I start to freak out. I don't know. I really just don't. On TV you always see women screaming and freaking out in pain and those images scare the crap out of me. I just don't know.
My parents sold their boat. My life is over.
I suck at catching frogs. We went to Bear Lake over the weekend with Caleb's fam and there was this little pond with frogs all over the place. I think I would get too excited and go really fast and freak them out and I needed to have a little more patience, but it was way fun. Our nephew Davis would get so excited whenever someone caught a frog he could would just start yelling and jumping around, it was so cute. He named all the frogs Batmonk.
Anybody have any new comments on the Dumbledore vs. Gandalf question? We started rewatching the Lord of the Rings Trilogy which of course made me question which wizard was best. I'm still leaning towards Dumbledore. Gandalf is pretty hard core for sure, but you never know what Dumbledore is going to bring.
Well thats all for my random ramblings. Sorry to put you through that, but it needed to come out. Just for kicks enjoy a pic of me and my amor.

Old Funnies..
So my work is still pretty entertaining. I have many stories but I always forget to blog about them. One that happened yesterday still has me laughing. I went into the Alzheimer's unit to check on a room and there's a lady in there i will name Clara. She and a lady that works here were talking and she asked Clara how old she was. Clara said, "I'm thirty six." the lady said,"Really Clara? You're only thirty six?" Clara sat there for a minute and then said, "Well I think I'm thirty six but I've been lying about my age for so damn long I don't remember." haha Clara is such a sweetheart and that made me laugh so hard. Another story from the Alzheimer's unit is that there was a new lady moving in I will call Rita. She is a fiesty little lady. She had been living here for about a day and I went in to check and make sure she was doing ok. She saw me and looked over at the CNA's and then back at me. She then lit up and ran and gave me a huge hug and was saying stuff really loud like, "I'm so happy to see you again." and all sorts of stuff then she pulled me to the corner and looked over her shoulder and then whispered in my ear "You've gotta get me outta here!!" while I was having a hard time not laughing it was really sad at the same time. I feel bad for the people who forget who and where they are. So then we walked around and talked and when she was calm again I left her in her room. Working in an assisted living home is definitely an eye opening experience and I love it! We also have people who are just retired here and don't want to take care of a yard, but the fun stories come from the other units :) Anyway that's all.

Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day everybody!! K I know I've been bragging lately about my hubby but I'm going to do it again because he is so freakin awesome! So yesterday we got up and went to our seperate work places. I got called down to the front desk, which happens all the time so I just thought somebody wanted to look at a room, but when I got down there the lady at the front desk said (somewhat sarcastically),"Looks like someone's husband loves them." There was a bouquet of red roses and a basket with a balloon, teddy bear, and chocolate covered strawberries mmmm. I then got a lot more crap from the ladies at the front desk (it was pretty funny). So I got home from work and I walk into the apartment and there are hershey kisses leading me to our room so I go in and found that the kisses formed a big heart and in the middle of it was a card and a chocolate rose. How cute is that? I have a winner for sure. I had made him a scavenger hunt before I went to work so hopefully he feels loved :). So then we went to the Grand America for dinner and when we sat down we both started laughing because we were so out of our league. There were multiple forks which I expected, but when there were three different sizes of butter knives that is when I get lost! So we decided to use what looked like the best option and if it wasn't right who cares, we sure don't. The food was yummy but for some reason high end restaurants just don't seem to give you enough food so we went to dairy queen for some blizzards after and then we watched a cute chick flick and went to bed. It was such a fun night! Has anyone else noticed the hating that goes on on valentines day? I noticed a lot of people saying how we should love our spouses everyday and not just that one day a year. Which I totally agree with, but I also think having an excuse to go all out one day a year makes it fun, kinda shakes it up a bit. Anyway thats all. Life is good.

Wedding.
I was just thinking about all the funny stuff that happened on our wedding day and remembering what an awesome day it was. I went over to Caleb's house early that morning so his sister Melissa could do my hair and when she finished I went to get into my car and could not find my keys anywhere! I had no idea where they were so Melissa helped me look and we found them locked inside my car sitting in the ignition...yeah I had no brain that day! I just started laughing and sweet Melissa drove me home so I could finish getting ready. Little things like that just kept happening all day, but it all ended up working out. My mother-in-law called a key guy while we were on our honeymoon. Luckily we didn't need my car for a few weeks. Really though my favorite part of the day was the ceremony. It was so sweet and both Caleb and I were crying and of course I can't cry without laughing at the same time. It was fun and sweet. After we were sealed I remember Caleb giving me a huge hug and I don't think I had ever felt that loved before, it was a great moment. Anyway life is awesome. I am blessed. My husband rocks my world. And when getting married, hold on to your keys. The end.

Old Funnies...
Even though I haven't blogged in forever and a day I am sure that most of you already know that I have a new job doing marketing for assisted living. Since working with old people is probably one of the funniest jobs on the planet I have decided to share the humor and start a new segment on my blog called 'Old Funnies'. I haven't worked in this field very long but I know that we belong together. I love awkwardly funny moments and those happen all the time here. This one happened a couple of nights ago and is pretty inappropriate but it is hilarious all the same. A new resident that I will call June (for the sake of hippa) had just moved in and I needed her picture so that we could have it on file. I went looking for her at her room and when I got to the hall where her room is I saw that she was walking in zigzags back and forth down the hall. I thought she was struggling to walk or that she was about to fall down or something so I asked her what she was doing and she told me, "I don't want to wear down the carpet." I tried not to laugh and said that she could walk straight and that if the carpet got worn down we could just replace it. Later June told me that her son hadn't bought her a lamp yet and that she liked to read before she goes to bed so I told her that I would get her a lamp to use until her son bought her one. I went and got the lamp and took it to her room. When I got in her room I said, "It's looking real good in here June." She replied, "Yes except that my son brought my king size bed, now what in the world am I going to do with a king size bed?" I told her that it fits in the room just fine and that it should work good for her, she then said, "Yeah if i were going to have an orgy." I couldn't help it and I started laughing so hard. Most of the residents here are very conservative so I was not expecting her to say that at all. I think she was pretty proud of herself for making me laugh. Anyway I will save some for another time.
So for a quick update life is going great. I love my job. My husband is the best and he likes his job which makes us both happy. He is going to school to be a plumber and he is working in plumbing right now as well. He makes me happy beyond belief. Life is good.

Realization
Wow I am graduating on friday...weird!! I'm so excited though. It feels like I'm just going to summer break, but no I'm done. Reality is starting to set in though with the wedding only being one month away!! Only one month! It feels like it is so close but it will never come at the same time. I still have so much to do it's crazy. I've kinda been laggin lately about getting stuff done with the wedding because school has been monopolizing my time, but now there are no distractions and I can actually get some stuff done. On sunday my uncle Rick took our groomals over at the Salt Flats and I think they are going to be awesome! I'm so excited to see how they turn out. Anyway that's all the update I got, but there is some exciting stuff goin on!!

Dumbledore vs. Gandalf
Hey ya'll so lately Caleb and I have been having Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring marathons. I even got him reading all the HP books! (that was my plan all along) In having these marathons though we have had a problem deciding who is the better and most powerful wizard:
So Gandalf is pretty intense. He is really limber for an old dude.

Dumbledore has all sorts of crazy spells that he knows. His knowledge of everything is impressive.
They both are humorous as well as crazy good wizards. The question is which one would come out on top if they dueled?
Any opinions because we both like Dumbledore better, but that doesn't mean he would kick Gandalf's trash (but i think he could)
haha yeah this is how we spend our time. We're that cool. Have a nice day :)

I'm gettin Married!!!
BAH! Life is crazy isn't it? So on July 8th we went on our first date, which by the way was incredible and now we're getting hitched on May 20th. For those of you who don't know I'm marrying Caleb Michael Brinkerhoff (yeah I'm getting a super long and just as weird last name). So basically he's awesome. Here is our engagement story:
Here is my ring :) its a horrible pic but you can see that it is incredible!! I love my ring and Caleb so much!!! It's still kinda weird to me that I'm getting married but I'm so excited because I can't picture the rest of my life without Caleb in it. Anyway folks that's all I got for now but I'm sure I will keep ya updated with wedding stuff!
We both needed to do some Christmas shopping so we decided to go to the Layton Hills mall and finish up. While we were shopping around we were passing the santa booth where all the lil kids get their pics with santa and I was joking around and told Caleb that we should stop and get our pic with santa. He was totally for it which completely shocked me, but I still wasn't expecting anything at all. So we were sitting on santa's lap and santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I first thought A ring! but I ended up saying a basketball. When he asked Caleb what he wanted Caleb said I want Haley. I thought he was just being cute but then he said 'but really' and then he got down on his knee which shocked me and I looked at him and said 'Are you serious?'and he started laughing and then said 'Haley I love you will you marry me?' Whoa!! haha I was so shocked! but of course I said yes!!! When Caleb was putting the ring on my finger he was shaking so bad that Santa told him to stop shaking son and put the ring on haha! The funny part was that when he did get the ring on and we were hugging and kissin everyone in line started clapping and then I looked over and a lot of the ladies were crying haha! I didn't cry but I did get teary.
The reason why I wasn't expecting him to propose is because he had been doing the 12 days of Christmas for me and I thought that he did that to throw me off. But he gave me the ring on day 8 and I thought if he did do it he would do it on Christmas, so I just didn't see it coming ha!He had planned to do it by santa in the first place and I just played into his plan very conveniently!

Fall
I could only get the kids to take a pic with me if we growled haha
So I got to go hang out with kiddos while Kim had her surgery. I had so much fun playing with my crazy beckham and sweet gwen. I miss them. Kim's surgery went well and all the cancer is out and everything (including baby girl) is looking good. For the record I didn't dress beck up in that fairy outfit, he did it on his own free will haha.
Tiya is so big! It's crazy to think how much she's grown. For some reason whenever I am watching her she gets messy. In that first pic aren't her thighs so stinkin cute?
Then Caleb's sisters had a halloween party and we decided to dress up as Mario and Princess Peach. He looks kind of like a creeper in that pic and one day I will get a normal pic and put it up here for everyone to see, but until that day here is a creepy one. It was a way fun party! We won best costume...yeah we're cool like that. So Kristi Kay I have to tell you that Caleb and I went to Lagoon and guess what? We went on the skycoaster!! It was so much fun and I was totally freaking out and Caleb was laughing at me and saying things like "What if the cable breaks and we land right onto the pavement and our guts go everywhere?" At the time it really wasn't funny, but now I can see the humor in it since I am still alive. Anyway it was so much fun it definitely got my adrenaline going. So Kris next time your up guess what we're doing?
So it's already snowing and this is no good. Like tuesday night Tori and I were hanging out at her house and it was snowing soo hard, pierce told tori not to let me drive home because he saw so many cars slide off the road! Isn't that crazy? But it was a good excuse to have a sleepover and we made delicious cookies so while I hate you snow, thank you.
School is basically insane. I should be doing homework right now, but I am so sick of it! I am taking nineteen credits so that I can graduate by may. I keep thinking that May is the date of my freedom! I'm excited for that! Oh so I was taking the shuttle on the first day of class(so a couple of months ago) and I actually got a seat which is so exciting. Anyway this girl that ended up standing in front of me had obviously never ridden the shuttle of death. She had one book in her hand and the other hand on her hip. I know that I should've told her to hold on or she was going to go flying into the person in front of her, but you know me. I couldn't help but keep my mouth shut and see what happens. Well the shuttle started and she went smack right into the person in front of her and it was pretty funny, but this girl just didn't get it!! She still didn't hold on until we went over a bump and she fell down onto the person sitting behind her! I was trying so hard not to laugh, but really I couldn't help it. She finally held on after that.
Anyway that's some of what's been going on! Have a fantastic day!
PS- The Murray Scaddy's opened! It's awesome you should go check it out!

Random...
I'm very good at stalling when trying to clean my room. I hoped by now I would have grown out of that, but I haven't.
When cleaning my room today I did more of a deep clean than usual. I looked in my closet and realized I only wear 4 pairs of shoes out of the 50 that are in there. So I threw away 14 whole pairs of shoes and gave away 13 to the DI. I don't think I even realized I owned that many shoes until I cleaned them out. That's sad.
Then I went through all of my college stuff again that I haven't touched in 3 years since I went to SUU. Let's just say that I threw away enough expired canned food to keep me living for at least a week.
So I've been kind of obsessed with the show Hoarders that's on TLC (I think) and after the dejunking of my room today I diagnosed myself with a mild case of hoarderism. After realzing that I have an issue I wanted to throw everything away because the houses in that show completely disgust me and I don't want to end up like that and after seeing my crap today I know that I could end up like that if I'm not careful...sick... I don't want to think about that.
This background reminds me of the doodles I would draw...still draw on every page of notes from school. I'm super cool like that.
So I'm dating a super cute guy. Yeah, that's right.
School starts in approximately t-minus 12 days. I'm pretty sure its going to be ridiculously stressful and probably traumatizing. Oh I've missed it...like really though. I have.
I saw Charlie St. Cloud. I think I laughed through a good portion of the movie, teared up once, and vowed never to watch it again. Strange movie.
I love summer so much. I wish it would stay a little bit longer.
In twoish months I'm going to be turning 23. This freaks me out a bit. I don't feel mature enough to be older than 17.
I'm reading the book Fishers of Men, and I didn't think that I would like it, but really it is so good! I totally recommend it.
Who wants to go see Eat Pray Love? I'm pretty sure I do. Let's go! (Hey was this originally a book? and if so was it good?)
Hey guess what? My brother can now get out of his brace and play on the floor! Woot Woot! Way to go dude! The progress may be slow, but at least now its coming.
Well folks thats all for now and probably a while until I find inspiration, but I guess shuttle riding will be coming up soon so stayed tuned for that fun stuff! ha!

Oh bad words...
I have to tell my disgusting yet hilarious experience of last night. I was laying in my bed reading Fablehaven (which is an awesome book!) late last night and for some reason I started thinking about how sick spiders are..(oh I was laughing to myself about the Drew story...which I will sum up later) and then a sick black thick legged spider comes scurrying right by my face on my wall!!! I jumped up so fast and started giggling like a little girl. This spider was hauling though I have no idea why it was moving so fast. So I watched it for a second 'cause I wanted to know where it was so that I could find something to trap it in. Well I couldn't find anything to trap it in, so I had to go to the disgusting second resort of squishing the dang thing. Well I go into the bathroom and get a couple of kleenex, but of course when I come back into my room the ugly beast had disappeared. The first thought that came to my mind was that I should just go sleep on Devin's bed. Then the side of my brain that won't be pushed around by a spider kicked in and said No this is your bed you're going to sleep in it. Then the two halves of my brain compromised and I turned my pillows and bedding around so that my face wasn't by a wall. So I turn my lamp by my bed back on and turn off my light and right when I picked up my book again the dark arachnid sprang into life and zoomed right up my wall. Once again I jump up and start giggling. I was prepared this time though. I had my kleenex at the ready. My heart rate started spiking and I stood up on my bed, but the stupid thing would not go to its grave easily. It put up quite a fight running all over my wall. I decided the only way to defeat the beast would be to do a sideways swipe and move with its movements. It started into a downward dive, I mimicked the move and started closing in, I swiped and I thought I had him but when the kleenex came up he was still on the wall which scared the crap out of me and I might have said a few choice words...maybe not (you'll never know). Then I realized that it was just stuck to the wall, but the squishing had been quite successful. I wiped up the rest of him and that ends the story. But it was very intense at the time.
Now for the Drew story because I think it is hilarious. I only read a facebook post of this so I haven't had the whole story, so please Ryan and Holly feel free to add on the comments. All I know is that my hilarious little cousin Drew called 911 17 times in one minute because he saw a spider!!! And the cops went by the house and everything! haha what a funny kid!
Anyway thats all for tonight!
P.s - Dev's doing pretty good, he's slowly progressing but is now able to crawl for a short amount of time, but that's definitely some progress!

All I know is that my hilarious little cousin Drew called 911 17 times in one minute because he saw a spider!!! And the cops went by the house and everything! haha what a funny kid!
Anyway thats all for tonight!

oh goodness
I think that a lot of you already know, but others don't so here is another update on the lil dude. Well he was home for approximately a day and a half and then his butt got hauled back up to the hospital, poor kid. The day they took him back up my mom was noticing that he still wasn't acting quite right and that he had a mild fever. So she got ready and she, pops, and tibs took dev back up. Well since the doctors didn't quite know where to start they decided to re-x-ray his hip and make sure it was alright, so they did a full pelvic x-ray and while they were examing it they realized that there was an identical fracture on his other hip! Ya, I'm serious. So they scheduled him for surgery that night(friday) and he has been in recovery since then. On sunday and saturday he was pretty out of it and his seizures were back to being horrible. Today though he was more awake and playful but still fairly tired. Well I hope I don't jinx the dude when I say I think we are finally out of the woods and are on to greener pastures. I mean really there has to be a point when the crazy stops right? We are thinking he will hopefully be able to come home tomorrow and just keep improving from there. Really thank you so much to everyone who has come to visit, called, text, commented, and cared. It means a lot to our family!!

Devdog
Alright well there have been lots going on with our little dude. The first three days we were here at the hospital we had not a clue what was going on. None of the doctors seemed to have a clue even where to start with the poor kid. Meanwhile he is still having at least 1 seizure every 5-10 minutes throughout the night. Then on saturday dev's orthopedic doctor came in and within 3 minutes knew that something was wrong with his hip. Although it sucks that he's hurt it is such a relief to know where the pain is coming from. My mom calls the ortho doc Miracle Max(princess bride) and I call him Dr. Incredible. So he got an mri that afternoon and Dr. Incredible thought that there was an infection in his hip which would be very painful and could trigger a lot of seizures. well the mri also showed a possibly minor hip fracture, but they weren't sure if it really existed or not. A lot of doctors came in including: Dr. fancy pants, Dr. goody tu shoes, Dr. Incredible, and Dr. Compensate (ya we've got to entertain ourselves somehow) So they started him on an antibiotic and inserted a pic line. Well we were thinking that we would be out of here by the end of the week hopefully. We don't think that anymore. Today a doctor ordered more x-rays and we didn't really know why. Come to find out there is a definite fracture on his hip and it keeps getting worse and the only way to fix it is surgically. Yeah. So dev is going into surgery at some point tomorrow and they aren't sure when but probably tomorrow night. Right now he still can't sit up and won' move his legs still (can't blame him). The cute kid though is feeling better and is laughing and messing with the nurses. As I type he is trying to push my mom off the bed and is giggling like crazy. He is too dang funny and he knows it. The nurses have all gotten to love the kid too. One of them washed his hair with the no rinse shampoo and then spent like ten minutes styling his hair. It was pretty entertaining. So as it is we have no idea how long we will be here at primaries, but oh well, whatever gets the dude better. Thanks so much to everyone who text, called and commented! It means a lot to us! I'll let ya know how the surgery went.
